Meet Marco Antonio

Onanya from the Shipibo-Konibo

Known in the artistic world as Korin Mea, I am Onanya, which means traditional doctor based on the shamanism of the original Shipibo-Konibo people, as well as a musical artist who performs the genre of cumbia mashá or cumbia ícaro. My name in Shipibo is Binan Mane, which means "Brilliant Young Man", owner or possessor of wisdom and ancestral values, proud to belong to the Shipibo-Konibo indigenous people, ancient inhabitants located on the banks of the Ucayali River and its tributaries, territory of tropical forests. in the eastern center of the Peruvian Amazon.

Since my youth I have received from my grandparents the inheritance of traditional knowledge based on master and medicinal plants such as ayahuasca and I have been ordained as Onanya, to give my neighbors the benefits in physical and emotional health that knowledge of traditional medicine provides and the natural and supernatural powers that come from master plants.

Born in the Shipibo Paoyhan indigenous community, in the lower Ucayali region, Loreto, near Contamana. He grew up in the same community until he was 16 years old. When he was young, Marco Antonio was “forced” to grow up quickly, he enjoyed playing with other children from the village, going fishing, hunting and was eminently curious about the plants and animals of the Amazon rainforest. Fortunately, most of Marco Antonio's family were shamans from the lower Ucayali, known and prestigious and recognized as the Nahua family of the Paococha indigenous community, so Marco Antonio decided to follow in the footsteps of his ancestors in traditional medicine. From his youth he felt a connection with the Icaros and the ancestral charm of medicine that his uncle Manuel Mahua would share with him on many occasions. According to the visions through ayahuasca, the universe had established Marco Antonio's destiny. When his father died, he took power from the knowledge that his father left him and began to read and study. Marco Antonio felt called to follow the path of the Shaman, so much so that the shaman Manuel Mahua guided him to his ordination as Onanya, a traditional Shipibo doctor, beginning his samá or diet from the age of 11, making a substantial lifelong commitment to heal and help others. The first three months of his first diet (samá) that his teacher, Marco Antonio, opened, he was able to connect in the ceremonies with the powers and properties of the master plant ayahuasca; Marco Antonio had the effect of the medicine where he received messages from his deceased father that he was the one called and chosen to continue the path of medicine with the opening of sacred visions, teachings, icaros and his gifts as a shaman. To date, Marco Antonio has done a diet with approximately fifty different master plants and trees. The most difficult part of his training was dealing with certain emotions, thoughts, feelings and traumas that were difficult to understand and integrate in order to move forward. These situations marked Marco Antonio's life and he now recognizes that when you give your life to serve others you often have to face unexpected spiritual challenges or better said, spiritual opportunities! To take advantage of those opportunities, Marco Antonio committed himself to surrender himself fully and completely to the divine and stays away from negative thoughts and emotions with conviction. "Accepting who you are and how you are in each moment is important to grow and staying in the present moment is what makes the difference" are Marco Antonio's strengths. Marco Antonio considers himself a lifelong student of Shipibo ancestral medicine and is constantly seeking to further deepen his relationship with ayahuasca and other master plants/trees he works with. As a result, his ability to heal continues to evolve, strengthen and therefore offer change in others. His professional career focused on healing those who come to Peru in search of transformation and life change through ayahuasca and currently based in Yarinacocha-Pucallpa, Marco Antonio continues to offer services and benefits of shamanism, from his own Spiritual Center "Dietas de Ayahuasca Healing Center" located in the native community of San Salvador, district of Yarinacocha, 18 kilometers from the city of Pucallpa. I came to understand and value that shamanism is an ancestral science, like "diets", "samá" which would be the discipline of ayahuasca as a master and sacred plant, which is practiced with respect, to be a shaman or master one has to have the diet, and without a diet you are nothing in shamanism. His indigenous brothers, sisters and many people from other corners of the world can testify to his career and work. He has committed himself until the end to share his gifts so that he can change people's lives and emotions. He started about 10 years ago, working in prestigious centers such as "Baris Betsa", "Oka Wasi" and "Soltara", "Espíritu de Anaconda", very well-known centers in the industry of the powerful ayahuasca.

Preparation and integration work

Born in Germany with Belgium roots, giving birth to the passion for a nomadic lifestyle.

Since a very young age, there has always been a deep curiosity for deeper meaning in life. With a passion for martial arts and Buddhist traditions, this holistic journey started. Which was very good as a foundation and bridge into the more magical experiences later on. Because it represents a practice that is focusing on the present moment, and much more later on.

The curiosity and love for nature came back in very unexpected ways. Through a very challenging childhood and unhealthy lifestyle, plants came back into his life. Demanding attention for something way more important. A request to go deeper inside…

This journey has led him to the Peruvian rainforest where he had the opportunity to attend his first Ayahuasca retreat with Marco Antonio as one of the healers of the team. These two weeks in the jungle opened a whole new aspect and perspective in life. Ultimately he returned to Peru, almost every year over a course of five years and had the opportunity to work with different maestros and styles of medicine work. Followed with the practice of dieta and learning directly from the plants. And figuring out the whole integration process in his own unique way. Today he offers his experience to guide others who wish to prepare themselves for their ceremonies and dietas. And for the aftercare, when our guests return back home, guide and support them when they start to work on integrating their experience from the medicine work back into their daily lifestyles and relationships. Which can be a very challenging part of the healing journey and at the same time it’s the moment where the deepest transformations happen and become a part of your reality. For now he is offering his support as our virtual assistant, English communication and as integration coach to support your journey before and after your visit to our spiritual healing center. Our mission

Our mission

The goal is to help raise the consciousness of the world in every possible way. To bring light and heaven to earth, that is, to bring the message of love from the spiritual world to the physical.

In the modern Western world, today, we forgot our connection to spirit. In essence, a very important part of our connection with nature, and the world around us, which we are undeniably part of. This is where we support each individual in the cultivation of their personal process to reconnect with their own divine essence. And so we can all bring our own unique piece of light into this physical experience, that we call life.

With the support we receive we wish to assist protection of their ancestral land and the indigenous knowledge and traditions that they still hold today. There for Marcus Antonio started the ONG 'Korin Mea association for change', to create a platform for the Shipibo Konibo community, sustainable cultivation of medicinal plants and food and protection of their ancestral wisdom and land.

To protect and preserve this wisdom, Marcus invites anybody who desires to learn directly from plants and their wisdom. Through the process of the 'Dieta' a person develops his personal relationships with plants and anyone who desires can become a student of this tradition.

You can always support our projects also through free donations!
Thank you for giving back to the jungle and cultivating the courage to continue this healing journey for yourself.

Visions

The visions are guidance and insights that are shown to us for teaching and healing.

Healing and learning

Plants are the ultimate doctors and teachers. Yet the choice will be yours why you wish to connect with them.
Do you come for healing or do you come to learn directly from the forest's wisdom?

Detoxification

Deep cleansing goes hand in hand with a diet and the ceremonies. And reactivates the self healing mechanisms in the body.

Purge

To let go of what doesn't serve you any longer.
